No, it wasn't necessary. I had to weave out the cable and thread in again using another way to win length ( I hope this is understandable...)
The part number is Z120T018 - it consists of the adapter, the matching screws plus a piece of steel brake line (maybe 10 inches long). Which handlebar (22mm diameter) you will use depends on your individual convenience and expectation.
