RE: [ST] Trailer tie-downs

I use four straps, plus a canyon dancer. The C.D. is has a loop to go
around each handgrip, which slide through a middle loop. After putting
it on the grips, a hook from a tie down goes through a loop on the other
end. The back two straps, I connect via soft straps to the rear rack.
Pull everything tight, so the straps hold the bike up. Leave it out of
gear and off the stand. Some people like to attach the wheels to
something, but I don't and have never had a problem. Make sure you
compress the suspension a little over half way, you want the suspension
to still absorb some shock, but not be able to move enough to allow the
straps to come loose. Once it is strapped down, drive a mile and check
it. Adjust as necessary. Drive 10 miles and check again. Then every 150
miles or every stop, check to make sure nothing has loosened up.

Subject: [ST] Trailer tie-downs

Hi,

I plan to start taking my ST to track days this year using a single-bike
trailer.

Can anyone recommend home many tie-downs to use, and where to attach
them?
I'm a total newcomer to the world of towing (though I did once do
bike-to-bike - scary!).

Regards,
