RE: [ST] Reservoir Dawg rides again

Hate to add "me too" but...I fitted the Triumph after-market CF can on my
red '01 ST and had the EFI remapped accordingly. After 200-300 kms, I found
a really thick jet -black deposit around the end of the can and visible
black smoke when revving hard. Went back to the dealers several times and on
one occasion they found a CO level of 13%. The last time, they kept the bike
for 3.5 weeks but still no solution. Finally, I decided to trade the thing
in and I now have a red '02 ST. Question is, should I change the can and
risk the same "problem"?

BTW, the new bike is SUPERB with a clear increase in performance.

End of the can looks sooty, which suggests rich running. Certainly a
lot dirtier than with the old can, and downright filthy compared to my Saab,
the end of the pipe of which is totally clean. Anyone else had this
expreience with the can? I had it fitted by my local dealer, who has
Triumph awards, so assume that the right software was downloaded. Comments
please.

I fitted a Blue flame a few months ago and have found the same, I was
thinking of booking the bike in to have the CO2 checked, it had the latest
tune downloaded by the dealer for the can.
