Re: [ST] Re: RS silencers

Another one to look at would be the Staintune silencer. www.cbtimports.com
- -- There are pictures and list prices on the site.

A buddy of mine has the full underseat set up on his R1100s, its all
stainless steel, and I can tell you that the quality is amazing -- much
better than TBR. I don't think repacking is required at all on their
stainless pipes, but they do also make a CF shell that I'm sure needs to be
repacked occasionally. According to their site, most of their pipes come
with a removeable restrictor to reduce the noise level. The only one I've
ever heard is on a BMW, but with the restrictors in it sounds about the same
as stock exhaust (which is very quiet). Without them it's still pretty
quiet at idle, but sounds great under accelleration. On the Sprint I would
think this pipe is quieter than the TBR can, but maybe not as deep and a
little more metallic sounding. I'm in no way affiliated with these guys,
just impressed with the product. I'm considering their high-mount oval for
my ST...

I'm looking at all of the exhaust systems that are available for the
RS, to help me make a wise purchasing decision. The Quill silencer
looks tempting. What is the sound like, on a scale of 1 (stock...
vaccum cleaner) to 10 (track only... painful)? I'm looking for qaulity
over quantity here. Has anyone in the USA bought from them? I'm
curious about freight, customs, and exchange rates. Is the Remus setup
the only one that does not require occasional repacking? There's also
a comany in Texas called D&D that has one available at a very attractive
price, but they offer very little information on their web site. Any
experiences with their product? Any info would be appreciated.
