You are correct, same seat pan. ST's have a grab rail. The strap just bolts
on to the bottom.

IIRC DOT requires something for the pillion to grab -- besides the pilot
(especially good for newbies pulling horn monos with a pillion. heh
heh). Hence grab rails or strap. I would guess that the RS and ST
share the same seat pan. But what do I know... It's sunday, and I am in
front of the computer, instead of riding.
