[ST] How do you say Mille?

Yeah I know this is a Triumph list but some liSTeRS
seem to know everything so I'll ask: What is the
correct pronunciation of Mille? (as in Aprilia) 
Recently, I met a fellow who called his "millie" and I
have heard others say "mill", as in steel mill.  I
thought it was mil-lay (rhymes with delay) but I've
been wrong a time or two.

BTW, his Mille was gorgeous but it had a seat cowl so
I know he was a poser.  ;^)
