Re: [ST] Sufficient exhaust backpressure (re: A few minor problems)

Thanks for the info Lex. I might have overstated my desire for performance,
I only meant I wanted my Sprint ST to be the best it should be. I am quite
happy with my bike. In fact, I am more happy with my bike than I could have
ever imagined. I knew very little about motorcycles and all the different
types and uses. I really stumbled on the Sprint ST by accident. I think what
attracted me to the bike was the Triumph name, something I remembered from
my youth. Now I have come to truly appreciate the design of a sporttouring
bike and all it has to offer. The touring aspect appealed more to me than
the sport aspect.
My original desire to change the muffler had nothing to do with wanting more
performance, I just thought the bike should have a nicer tone than it had
with the stock muffler. Once I modified my muffler and had a different tune
downloaded, I noticed the mileage dropped. Now that I have to replace the
muffler with something more suited than my original creation, I hope the
mileage and performance will be as it is designed to be, that's all.
With all this said Lex, I think you make some very valid points we should
all keep in mind when we start tinkering with these bikes.
By the way, I enjoy taking long trips on my bike as well as participating at
track days, riding in the sport mode.
