Joanna, I had a similar grabbiness during the last few mph of a stop, more
of a grab/release/grab/release cycle. A little later I started noticing a
"dance" to the mirrors when braking/slowing at speed.

Upon strapping a dial guage to my forks I found my right rotor warped out
of spec, and the new EBC's have arrived to replace them. Just waiting for
that front jack stand to arrive to do the job, no more balancing on a
bottle jack for me!

Hopefully you can find a dial guage setup to borrow or White Horse Press
has a dial gauge for about $35 and a stand for about $45, next you'll need
to fashion some sort of base out of a block of wood or resin that the
stand can be screwed into then strapped via zip tie to your fork. That
will let you measure for warp, etc.
