[ST] Radar detector mounting question...

For those people who have mounted a detector in the nose of the fairing -
how have you stopped it from getting wet, especially when hosing the bike
down? Is anyone using a waterproof housing , or do you just wash the bike
more carefully? I want to mount my V1 in the nose and use the remote
display which is (already) mounted in line of sight, more or less at the top
of my windscreen.

Also, mounting a detector in the nose will (presumably) eliminate the
possibility of picking up laser? Having said that, has anyone actually been
able to slow down in time once your detector has warned you of laser? My
understanding is that, unlike radar, it is all over so fast the message
isn't "slow down NOW before you get a ticket" but " Gotcha! you're toast"...
