[ST] Oil Level

I just looked back at listings and it seems that this thread started with the 
oil being checked via the sight glass with the bike running.  That will not 
work, the bike must be off.  Most of the oil is busy doing it's thing up in 
the engine when the engine is running thus no oil to be seen in the sight 
glass.  

Shut the bike down, wait a minute and then check.  Ideally check when cold.
