Re: [ST] oil level

I've checked the oil level with the bike on it's wheels and on the
centerstand there's very little difference in the sight glass. That
said if you try and dump 4 qts in the bike will be overfilled. In
fact early, early on we had this disscussion here about dealers
dumping the whole 4 liters from a Triumph jug of Mobil1 in and sort
of concluded that that's too much oil. I've found after many oil
changes that about 3.80 quarts fills the the sight glass a bit past
the middle which is where it's supposed to be, and that the sight
glass is acurate if you check the oil after it's been ridden awhile
and then left for about 15 minutes so that mostly all of the oil
drains from the engine and oil cooler and lines. Keep in mind that
some oil will remain trapped in the lines and cooler so half up the
site glass is a good place to be. Always better a little less than to
overfill.
