  Neil, I've run a Gerbing jacket,gloves and pants, heated grips, and
accessory lights together w/o problems. I do put the bike on a Battery
Tender charger after every ride, though don't know if it's necessary. ST's
alt. output is 40 amps, but don't know how much of that is consumed by bike
systems. When talking with Gerbings sales rep., they advised ST's accessory
plug is only capable of handeling about 3 amps, not enough to run their
gear. They advised me to wire it directly to the battery, which is what I
did. Pleased with the Gerbings gear....plenty toasty at temp's in the 20's
F, and had more heat available on the controller.
