[ST] warranty work

As you may know from my earlier posts I'm (hopefully)
having some warranty work done on my bike (melted
belly pan).

I've been told from the dealer that they haven't heard
back from Triumph yet. They said they faxed the
pertinent info and that Triumph has not yet responded.
It's been one week (I was there Tue 9 Jan) and I
think that's a little slow.

So, I ask you. Does this seem peculiar to you? I've
never had warranty work done on a bike before, only
cages. Is it normal for a dealer to contact the
manufacturer for something like this? If so, is it
normal for it to take this long? Should I take my
bike to another shop (even though the next closest is
~60mi away)?
