Hmmmmmmmm..........

Well I have 28,0000 miles on my 2000 ST (20 months). About 22K was with the
stock can. Days rides (300-500 miles) account for about 1/2 my mileage
without panniers. The other 1/2 is with panniers (very full) tank-bag, and
RKA tail-pack (OK I'm a pack-RAT on the road). Bottom line? Virtually NO
DIFFERENCE in mileage. Variations are within 42-48 mpg, highway blasting,
canyon strafing, with & w/o bags. Typically reserve light comes on at
180-200 miles. I have gone as far as 230 miles on a tank and still had 1/2
gal. left (whew!) I dropped one-tooth on the counter-sprocket at about 24K,
that raised the RPM level about 500rpm @ indicated 80mph. I guess that has
had a minimal effect. But for me it's the MILES not the mileage that is
important...

Cheers!
