Re: [ST] motor oil question: conventional or synthetic?

Dave,

There is no need to take off fairing. You need a filter wrench( I bought
mine from my local Triumph shop for $9.00) and a 8mm hex head socket to
remove the drain plug. That is it, just warm up your bike put it up on
the center stand, drain the oil, change the filter, replace the drain
plug and torque to 25 NM that would be 18.4 foot pounds. They say to
tighten the filter to 10 NM but I just make sure that the face of the
seat on the engine is clean and put a little new oil on the filter
O-ring and snug it hand tight. Just like on an auto. I use the standard
oil recommended by Triumph in your manual.

Hope this helps
