Ok Dawgs I know you've been waiting with baited breath for a full
report on the Remus exhaust, I received it about a hour ago, and
fitted it in 20 minutes. So I'll not keep you in suspense.. In fact
I'll even save you all the trouble of reading to the conclusion and
just say up front that this is by far the nicest exhaust I've ever
had the pleasure of installing! First off fit and finish are by far
the best I've ever encountered, nicer even than the very pricey
Staintunes.. The system just plain fits PERFECTLY no fiddling no BS
everything just lines up first time on the button. A few of the nice
touches are the connector pipe ( the system is two pieces ) which has
the clamp built in, just slide it on and tighten. The can slides on
the connector and is held in place by two very strong springs. The
can itself is a tri-oval I got the Carbon Fibre and it's beautiful.
In fact the whole thing is Stainless Steel, except of course the
cover ( Titanium is also available). Another nice touch is that the
can uses a bracket that bolts into it, very much like the stock one)
so no messy clamps , very sano! Additionally it is one of the very
few after market exhaust's that meets German TUV specs. Also unlike
the Two Brothers it does not need re-packing and comes with a 2 year
warranty. What else , oh yes it fits perfectly in either the low or
high position; if using it in the low position just use the factory
hanger that comes with the panniers. It's also way lighter than
either of the Triumph pipes. As for performance can't tell yet,
haven't ridden the bike, poor roads etc.. Sounds great though, about
the same as the Triumph performance pipe in volume, nice deep meaty
tone. So what more can I say.. well if you're thinking about a pipe
for your ST or RS.. yup they do have one for the RS, I can't think of
any other brand even worth considering. Belive me ( and I am awful
fussy) the Remus is worth every penny.. maybe even a bit more ;-)
