[ST] fairing screws

For those of you who have removed the front bodywork your ST, are the screws
coated or solid black?  Just wondering whether removing the screws will
screw up the screw heads (so to speak) and scratch them up.  Yeah, as
anal-retentive as it may sound, I don't want to cause a bunch of bright
areas were the bladed screw driver (or power driver) has marred up the
heads.  How careful do I have to be?
