RE: [ST] 6K Service

Ever since the 600 mile service I have done all the work myself (now at
15k).  Kept receipts for oil, valve tool, etc...  I agree with Andrew about
the stamps in the book may help with value down the road, by the time I am
ready to sell, the extra value will be so little it will hardly matter.
That and the few hundred or more I save doing the work myself may off set an
loss in resale value.  On the plus side, the RS is fun to work on!!

I own an 00' Sprint RS and I'm 600mi overdue for the 6K service.  After
looking over the checklist in my owners manual, I find that I can do
everything myself except the computer code check.

I haven't had any problems and it runs great.  I'm seriously thinking of
skipping the dealer, do the 6K myself, and wait until the major 12K service
to bring it into a "approved" service center.

Any thoughts?
