Re: [ST] Tire Pole, again

Hi, Eric,

I've tried 010s (OEM on the ST), 020s and currently running Avon Azaro
39/40s.

010s were OK, but got squirelly towards the end. Lasted 9,500 miles. 020s
seemed a lot better on immediate impression, but seemed to offer less
feeling of security in the wet - no unpleasant surprises, just didn't give
the same level of confidence. Horrible during last 1.5 mm downn to wear
bar. Lasted only 8,500, but maybe that reflected my growing familiarity and
confidence with the bike.

Love the Azaros. Feel very poised and a lot more nimble than the
Bridgestones, almost like having a degree less steering head angle with none
of the instability. Feel just as planted on 85+ mph sweepers, directional
stability at higher speeds that dare not speak their name really good, less
vagueness and better I think than the Bridgestones in the wey in terms of
feedback and confidence levels (though I was obviously not exploring the
limits in the wet). Word amongst Sprint and VFRs that I know run them is
that mileage is likely to be as good, if not better. In UK there is a £20
price advantage per sert (£200, compared to £220 for the Bridgestones -
prices include 17.5% VAT and fitting, balancing, valves).

I'd go for the Azaros.
