Brian,
Try mounting a pencil to whatever vibrates most - eg rear footrest.Hold a
piece of paper backed with something against it, rev to 4000, then move the
paper sideways or down at a constant speed.
You'll get a series of small waves. Go for a ride 40 miles+ and repeat. I
bet the waves get higher.
It's not a massive difference but it's another confirmation of the problem.
(Or so I would guess, of course I would never ride around with several
pencils taped to the bars,footrests etc :-) )
