Thanks Steve.

That is all too similar to how I actually injured this eye. I went to check
on the kids and didn't bother to turn on the lights at their end of the
house. With my eyes wide open I walked (at good speed) right into a plastic
mini-basketball hoop mounted perfectly at eye-level on my son's bedroom
door. Did a good number on my cornea plus resulting infection and
inflamation of eyeball and surrounding tissues.

Things must be improving because I can actually tell that there are letters
on the computer screen now (with my right eye). Previously all I'd see is a
glow.

Don't get me started about insurance companies! At some future Rallye we'll
get together over some strong drink and swap horror stories.

Indeed!

This week I've had two companions so constant I call them my shadows. When
I've been at my worst I can't get rid of them. Even bribing them with their
favorite treats only earns me a brief break. The small one isn't bad --
she's lap sized. But when the big one (not allowed on furniture) tried to
climb onto the bed beside me while I lay there moaning last Monday ...

I didn't know I could laugh and cry at the same time. :-)
