If it's got a tendency to want to tankslap.......then it's because it's
set-up wrong in the suspension. Problem with steering dampers is they tend
to hide problems.
If you've got something that's exhibiting a want for
tankslapping.........solve the problem before _before_ installing a steering
damper. In the absence of an outright mechanical failure (swingarm bearings,
head bearings, etc.), tankslapping can usually be attributed to incorrect
suspension setup for the riding environment.

On track you have to make compromises cause you're pushing to extremes for
which you can't always cover/anticipate w/suspension (hence need for
steering dampers in racing)...........but on the street, they're a waste of
money. Don't fix the real problem and hide what's wrong.
