RE: [ST] recommends on GPS units...........

Greetings..

I have been using a Magellan Map 330 for the last year or so - I have found
them to be very easy to use, and their street level maps contain a wealth of
detail. I usually have mine tucked into the map pocket of the Triumph
tankbag, and have no problems pressing the buttons through the clear
plastic.

Highly recommended.

Subject: [ST] recommends on GPS units...........

Never used one before but getting ready to take a long trip (Georgia to
Colorado and back) to do some riding. Anyone want to recommend a GPS unit?
I don't want to drag along lots of paper maps. I figure a decent GPS will
show me maps (as well as tell me where I am). Never felt the need for one
before but I think for contemplated trip I could justify.

Any advice/review on brand, model, usefullness, ease of use, mounting,
likes, dislikes, etc? Not familiar with 'em at all and would hate to get
something that would wind up stashed in one of the hard bags. Looking for
lots of input.....

Reply on/off list.

TIA,
