I have a Garmin V.  Had a III+.  IF you are using it pretty much strictly
for Moto Touring, go with the III+.  The V adds the memory (nice if you buy
additional maps CDs) and the Auto Routing.  It is dangerous enough for cage
drivers to keep looking at a navigation system, so I do not use the auto
routing on the bike (at least I don't look at it if it's turned on).  Last I
heard Amazon has the V for $360 and the III+ is going for cheap on Ebay.
I'll also 2nd or 3rd the vote for the RAM mounts.

Never used one before but getting ready to take a long trip (Georgia to
Colorado and back) to do some riding. Anyone want to recommend a GPS unit?
I don't want to drag along lots of paper maps. I figure a decent GPS will
show me maps (as well as tell me where I am). Never felt the need for one
before but I think for contemplated trip I could justify.

Any advice/review on brand, model, usefullness, ease of use, mounting,
likes, dislikes, etc? Not familiar with 'em at all and would hate to get
something that would wind up stashed in one of the hard  bags. Looking for
lots of input.....
