[ST] Another Dealer Down the Tubes

Well, it's official. The Triumph Dealer in Albuquerque, NM (Motorsports)
has let Triumph (and Aprillia) go. The bikes are already gone and as of
June 30, there will be no service, parts or accessories. This leaves NM
essentially without a Triumph dealer (there is one in Farmington, but is out
of the way and not a large part of their business). I'm sure that the owner
has his reasons for his decisions and I will never know what those reasons
are so can't judge his decision.

However, I am very bothered by this dealership's seeming lack of concern for
its current Triumph, and presumably Aprillia, customers. The only notice I
got was a note taped to the showroom door. Bikes sold and still under
warranty are apparently thrown to the wind. Resale of said bikes just went
into the dumpster, at least in this area. I have never been very happy with
Motorsports customer service after the sale and this lack of concern
basically seals the deal. I have to outsource Triumph Parts and Service,
however I also own a BMW and a Suzuki (SO's) both of which Motorsports still
sells and services. He just lost a customer forever.

The recent 'rash' of Triumph shop closures in the US that have been reported
to this list is not a good sign that TOA is doing a particularly good job
with its dealers. I really very much like my ST and should anything ever
happen to it, or I get to the point that I want a new bike again, I would
buy a Triumph again. But... I cannot do that without dealer and
distributor support. My nearest dealer is now essentially 6 hours away and
my nearest parts source will be Jack Lilley in England, who is a bit too far
away for me to send my bike in for service.
