Mine are attached to and hang down from where the upper footpeg
mounting perch bolts[1] to the subframe. The quarter-turn
'socket' is visible through the triangular opening above the
footpeg and the 'hook' is in front.
[1] I didn't like the factory suplied bolts (IIRC they were way
too long) so I substituted 8.8 graded 8x1.25 hex-head bolts &
nylon insert nuts.
