Re: [ST] Clutch Cable Replacement Question



Erik,

How's it going?

Peronsally I would remove the top end of the cable from the clutch lever
casing (or what ever you want to call it) and very carefully inspect
where the cable goes into the lead ball. On my bike you could not see
any damage until I moved the ball, once I did about a dozen strands
popped out. The metal friction sleeve would appear to cut/stress the
strands.

If all the strands are still attached I would not worry about the cable,
but if you see some damage, get a new cable that now has a plastic
friction sleeve.
