Takin' it easy on my break-in first tank last year: 256 miles
(warning lite on at 249) / 4.5 gallons = 56.88mpg. That's with
the 18t countershaft sprocket. Next tank, riding it *much*
harder: 195 miles / 4.4 gallons = 43.3mpg. The worst I've had
was 37mpg but I'm a half-fast rider :o).
As to the fuel gauge accuracy. If you think of the upper mark
near the "1" as the 1/2 mark, the mark in the middle as 1/4 and
the top of the red as 1/8, it makes much more sense. I usually
expect to go about 100 miles before the needle starts to drop
unless I'm using lots of throttle.
