I pay about AU$800 per year for comprehensive insurance (including helmet
cover) on a 2001 RS with Swann Insurance.  Many bike shops are agent for
them (at least in Queensland).

I haven't had to make a claim yet (touch wood...) but many people seem to
agree that they are a good insurance company (if there is such a thing)

Being under 25 will cost you more, but you can get discounts from them if
you have completed certain training courses - like the Breaking and
Cornering Course MRS does in Brisbane.  If you are Rating 1 with a car
insurer, and can prove it, they will put you onto Rating 1 as well.

It would be worth shopping around, $2100 a year seems like way too much for
insurance - that's about 15% of the cost of the bike.
