[ST] Re: Helmet Rights

I am aware of the "burden to society" argument regarding helmet use,
and agree that it has some merit. There is a lot of legal and
rhetorical grey area here. I feel fortunate to live in the good o'l
U.S. of A, where individual states can decide what is best for their
citizens, and where those citizens can take part in the legislative
process. I was not intending to start a debate about whether helmet
laws are a good idea or not, as my opinion is mixed on this issue. My
point is that we should not stereotype those motorcyclists who might
choose to ride helmetless at some times. It is wrong to assume that
they would make you feel unwelcome for riding with a helmet. This is a
common "us good, them bad" attitude that is, unfortunately, an integral
part of humanity. I'm just asking that we look at other motorcyclists,
regardless of what or how they ride, as a part of "us", not as one of
"them". We will all benefit.

Enough about ethics and politics. I'm going out for a ride.
