I'm a big believer in the Pirelli Dragon GTS tires. I can get fairly
consistant 5k+ miles out of a rear, and 8-10k out of a front. They are
rather sensitive to tire pressure, but you keep them in the to 80% of
recommended inflation they wear very well. I enjoy spirited riding as
well(the latest set survived a track day with flying colors), and I do a
great deal of touring and commuting on these tires. They are wonderful in
the rain, and are very quick to heat up, but don't get slippery during a
good thrash. I've been thru 3 sets of these tires this year during my 21k
miles on this '02 and never had them do anything upsetting. I also put
about 40k miles on these tire on my '99 with excellent service.
Though I hear very good things about eh Metzler M1 as well. That would be a
good alternative, in my opinion.

Because of my like for fun, I'm thinking a sportier tire like the Azaro
45/46, Michelin Pilot Sport, or Metzeler M1 would make me happiest with the
handing, but then again with how many miles I rack up I'd probably be
looking for replacements in just a few months. So, I'm stuck. Given this mix
of riding, what does this learned group think would be my best bet?
Thanks!
