[ST] Heated Grips - Throttle wire loop???

I'm putting on Kimpex heated grips, and reached a tricky part.
 
I understand the need for a loop of wire for the throttle side, but can anyone
give me a better description of where the wire loop goes?  Do you route the
wire outside the throttle housing, or through it?  If you go through it, where
does the loop go?  Doesn't it leave an exposed wire if you go outside of it?
 
If anyone can send me a picture, that would be great.
 
Thanks for any help, I'm sure I'll have more questions.
