Just got back from Reg Pridmore's CLASS session, sponsored by CalBMW.
Mostly BMW bikes, but several other Sprints were on the track.
Class sessions (keep RPMs up, be smooth, downshift-look-lean, etc) were
basic but welcome short breaks from the track.
Even with the ~30+ other riders in my 'B' group the track ahead was
rarely crowded.
Was surprised to see a CBR600 outpull me from ~40-90 when running up
the final straight.
With 5 sessions, and 5-8 laps per session, practicing the same line
repeatedly was quite useful.
The stainless Triumph can didn't cause any problems with the 92db track
limit.
BT 010/020 combo gripped well.
Only hairy bit came when I ground the peg feeler into turn 2 (the long
double-apex left-hander), bringing me up a bit, causing me to go wide
(as the day wore on I slowed down, concentrating on street riding
speed technique).
Finding my limits at Laguna Seca could become a fun hobby, but since
State Farm doesn't cover track mishaps, I need to rob a few more banks
first...
