Alex,
   I had a very similar problem with my Sony Discman ESP cd player. I was
running its output to the audio input of a Chatterbox HJC-FRS and using the
chatterbox speakers in my
helmet. The Chatterbox had almost no low freq. response. But as I would ride
around 80 Mph it would go into the suspend mode also. At first I thought it
was the Chatterbox but then I noticed the song would always start again in
the correct spot if I slowed down a bit. I have since changed to a Creative
Labs Nomrd II mp3 player. It is all solid state and I have not had this
problem at speeds up to 90 mph. I mount it on top of my tank bag with
Velcro.
I'm currently looking for a better helmet speaker set up though.
