RE: [ST] Non-ST WSBK



I photograph lots of club racing (Loudon Road Race Series, part of the CCS)
and you can believe Charlie when he says that his lil' toofity will smoke
'em. They push anywhere from 65 to 85 HP (factory rides, even more!), but
weigh what....under 300 pounds? The TZ750's are now "vintage racing" only,
as there are no classes they could run in. You see a Suzuki RG500 Gamma out
on the street now & then, and I know a guy running an RZ500 Yamaha, but
those near-GP bikes are also long-discontinued for the street riders.
(Unless you Euro riders can still get them??)

TZ250? An awesome ride, and still VERY MUCH in production. Competes against
the Honda RS250. Occasionally, someone will have at it with the Aprilia
RS250, but the 'prila's are really out of their league in that company.
Honestly, watch the 250GP racing on the world circuit. It's all about corner
speed, and the superbikes have NOTHING on the 125's and 250's in that
department. Personally, I think it takes a lot more skill to handle that
narrow, yet explosive powerband, and that experience is why guys like
Valentino Rossi do so well in MotoGP.

I have noticed the TZ in your sig.  How old is it?  I remember the TZs
of the 70s.  They were so
over-powered the rider's skill was in how much throttle NOT to give
them.  Wasn't there a TZ-750
that was a 3 cylinder?  Maybe I have too many dead brain cells.
