RE: [ST] bike down



My thinking, if indeed I had the presense of mind to think in this sort of
situation, is to actually make contact with the offending vehicle. I'm
assuming, of course, that it was the cage that was at fault here. My
experience with insurance companies has been that if no contact was made,
assigning fault is near impossible. So, if some sort of gravity storm is
indeed inevitable because of someone else's mistake and its gonna be a low
speed/low risk proposition, I'd go ahead and make some contact with the
other vehicle. If they leave, its a hit and run and your insurance can't
penalize you for it. If they stick around, then their insurance will pay for
the damage. If no contact was made but its still their fault, how are you
going to prove it?

Controversial, maybe. But then asking the wife for $600 to replace body
panels is *really* controversial!!!
