Congrats on the new ride David.

I used the Triumph heated grips for 3 years on my 99, and 45k miles.  Am
currently using Triumph heated grips on my '02 and 16.5k miles.  No
problems.  The only issue I hear is the on going debate about one side being
more warm than the other.

Also, I want to get the heated grips, but I've heard of people having a lot
of problems with them not working.  Am I better off getting generic heated
grips, or sticking with the Triumph parts?
