I just installed sliders on my 99 ST: You need a Torx T55 (star shaped)
socket that may be prove hard to find (I got mine from Autotrak but I had to
go to three different shops before finding it). You can order them through
the net. You need a torque wrench, a 17 mm eye spanner to hold the nut on
the back of the engine mounting Torx bolt when undoing it and a 19 mm eye
spanner (I did not have it so I used a 3/4 that did just as well) to put the
slider/engine mounting bolt ensemble back with the nylock nut provided by
Skyking. Installation was easy. It took me about 45 minutes to install the
first slider and 20 minutes for the second one, fairing un/installation and
engine cleaning time included.
By the way, it's the first time I post on the list so I should introduce
myself. My name is Jean Doublet aka "Goodawg". I am French and living in
Maryland. It's my fourth Triumph (a Bonneville when I was in Sweden in the
80's) then a new Trident 750 in 1992, a Trident 900 in 1994, then back to
BMWs, but nothing beats the new Triumphs so I got the Sprint. I love it.
