RE: [ST] Shift linkage



Is that shifting w/o the clutch by applying upward pressure then gently (but
quickly) release then add power?  I've experimented, and doing that from 1st
to 2nd is harsh.  Probably because it's jumping NEU.  But going up from 2nd
is fast and smooth though.  Is that power shifting?  If, not please explain.

One thing that I found has really made the shifting a lot smoother is power
shifting.  I was experimenting with it on the Sprint, and subsequently the
shift action is significantly smoother and lighter when shifting normally.
And mileage does make a difference - and the harder you use the gear box,
the sooner it loosens up.
