You know, there is a real dichotomy at work here. On the one hand, the
leering press is loathe to give the Sprint-ST any credit for it's supreme
abilities, and as such, the "sport bike crowd" generally follows suit. The
exception being, all those ~real~ riders out there on the road that know
what this bike can do (I'm talkin BMW, GoldWing, and "true" HD guys, as well
as ST1100, Concours, et al.....). And then you have the Sport Bike guys who
actually ride LD and they are impressed as well, these are guys who suffer
the ergos's of an R6, or ZX9 on the long haul so they can get the enjoyment
in the twisties, only to find we have the best of both worlds.

Then you have average Joe Citizen, non-rider. And what do you think his
reaction to our beloved machines is?? Absolute joy has been my experience.
Hey, I ride in some of the most backwoods areas in this great country of
ours. Podunk Oklahoma, and Arkansas, Missouri, and Louisiana. Redneck
heaven. And do I get any guff?? Heck no!! They ALL love the Triumph!! I
am lucky to get away in a half hour, listening to stories of "derring-do" on
their old bonnies!!! I will tell you this; If every old dude I've
encountered really had a Bonneville that said he did, then Triumph would
have NEVER gone belly up.

Bottom line is this. These bikes hang with the best in all real world
situations, and even kick ass in most. AND have the distinction of being
recognized and respected by most riders and non riders alike. What more can
we expect from a machine???

Damn but I love these bikes!!
