I know this is going off topic slightly but I always keep documentation,
mobile phone etc. in clear "Freezer bags" - reasily available in a number
of sizes from any supermarket (all UK speak - sorry). They are loose enough
not to cause condensation over long periods, but waterproof to stop the
gizmos getting drowned. As I use soft luggage on my ST (so I'm a Philistine
... or too cheap to buy the hard bags), I wrap the pannier contents in
plastic bags - clear bags for "clean" gear and translucent bags for ... not
so clean gear. It makes it a lot easier to find that extra pair of socks
when you are scrambling around inside a tent with an ever weakening torch,
in the depth of night, freezing your butt off. Apparently.

Oh and a very Merry Christmas, Season's greetings and/or Happy Holidays to
you all.
Whatever you do - have fun.
