I don't know what "normal" is for this battery, but my '00
RS, which just turned three years old last week with 28k
miles, is still on the original battery, which appears to
still be strong.

Do you keep it on a Battery Tender or other float charger
when you are not riding for long periods of time?  Mine goes
on the Tender as soon as I park it in the garage, regardless
of how long it will be until I ride again.
