[ST] RE: ST] Cost to mount tires?

last summer at the TSRA ride in Montrose, CO, i needed a new back tire to
get home on. i went to Competition Cycle in Grand Junction, and while i
waited they popped on a BT020. the bill - $150. total. tire, balancing,
installation. for an out-of-towner who had no real alternative.

the guys who charged you $145 to install two tires were probably miffed at
not getting the tire sale [at their prices, who would buy the tires?], and
took it out on you. there's an old saying, 'cutting off your nose to spite
your face'. seems to me their gouging left you looking for a different
place to mount the next tire.
