The early '99's used a short front brake hose which went directly
down the fork tube to the caliper.  The later hoses were longer
(28" [71mm] end-to-end) and wrapped through the steering head.
GenMars will work with the longer hose.

The HeliBars kit for the ST is of very high quality and will
clear the fairing/windscreen.  It is expensive though and doesn't
offer that much more rise/setback than GenMars.  I used Heli's
adaptors ($140) and have fitted my own 7/8" [22mm] bars.
