Re: [ST] Another one bites the dust

Howdy,

This is the biggest reason we sold our Legend. Even getting
simple parts for basic maintenance was a PITA and took forever. Then
all the shops started closing everywhere. As much as we liked the bike,
we just can't deal with that lack of support. It is a real shame
because Triumph has some serious potential to cut out a big chunk of
the market. If only they could figure out how to make it work. Not
being a corportate marketing and strategy guru, I am not so sure how
exactly they can fix the problems. It is easy to say, "make parts more
readily available and support the dealers," but it is the mechanics of
how to do that which seems to be giving them so much trouble. I can
sort of understand the minimum dealership order for a specific number
of bikes. Afterall, they cut costs by shipping lots of bikes at once,
not a few at a time. I guess it seems to be a moot point now. With
their current history, it will be hard to convince new dealers to come
on board even if they do get the problems fixed.

Adios,
