Re: [ST] Triumph Is Going Racing

<<
Yeah, British supersport. Who knows, maybe it will be the start of
something more. I wonder how much support they're getting from the
triumph factory?
>>
Some support, I'm sure, judging from the quotes from the Triumph man. But
Jack Valentine(the V of V&M) knows how to get the most from a bike. His R6
and R1 bikes for the IoM just a few years ago where real weapons. And I'm
really happy to see a real NAME rider in the form of Jim Moodie on this
team.

<<
I do remember someone racing a TT600 during an amasupersport race last
year. He got mentioned once at the beginning of the race, and once
again as Yates, Pridmore and Hacking (I think it was) all blew by him.
Hopefully, the Daytona600 will fare somewhat better.
>>
The TT600 last year was riden by a Giovani Rojas. The team was run out of
Augusta Triumph. From what I read on other forums they will be at it again,
on a limited schedule with the TT600, not the new Daytona.

<<
I wonder why no one takes a worked Daytona out in an AMA superbike race?
Don't they even have a rules advantage in that a triple wouldn't have as
much of a weight penalty?
>>
The bike really doesn't have the support to be made into a true superbike.
To be reasonably competitive in the privateer ranks it's easier and MUCH
cheaper to just get a GSXR750 superstock bike and slap some slicks on.
