RE: [ST] Carbon Fiber Pipes and Helibars



I had to ride 70 odd miles with the race can to the dealers before the new
mapping.
Main problem was that it would not tick over, just cut out.
Made for some interesting use of throttle, and clutch.

Yep, just unscrew a couple of bolts, pull off the old can, (optional) 
smear some high-temp anti-sieze on the end of the header pipe, push the 
new can on the header pipe, and screw the bolts back on.

IIRC, with the CF pipe's lower backpressure the stock tune will run very 
lean, especially at the lower RPMs. This could, theoretically, do some 
harm. The race tune enriches the low end considerably. You may want to 
get the new tune first; I don't think it would enrich the mixture to the 
point that you'd foul the plugs.

However, I don't have any direct experience running mismatched tunes and 
pipes. Anyone have hands-on experience?
