[ST] RE: Progressive surprised me

Hey, I'm in NJ too, and got an even bigger surprise.  I was insured with
Universal Underwriters.  It was costing me just under $500/year.  (age 48
and no claims or points on my license).  They just got bought out, by
Foremost Insurance, and they gave me a nice Christmas present: my rates went
up to $768/year.  There was only one other company to choose from AFAIK, and
their rates were just a tad less with less coverage.  Monopolies are
wonderful, aren't they.....

I'm with you Mark.  I'm also in NJ and somewhere around 500/yr for the 
Sprint. I'm 35 years old - no claims.  It's no secret that NJ may just be 
the most expensive state to insure a bike...  I've shopped around, but it 
don't get much better.
