I don't have a problem with Ducati (or anyone else) "starting over"
w/something new. The 916/748 was a "starting over" (from the previous
851/888 SBK's) and there were few/no complaints about the looks that I
recall. Tamburini's creation was an acclaimed "masterpiece" from the moment
it was first unveiled.

But if you're going to "start over", it ought to be something better than
butt ugly. I've had Ducs for years. Various ones dating back to the 80's.
But I won't be getting one of these new stylistic nightmares.

I have a friend (fellow longtime Ducati owner) that, after much debate went
and put his money down on a 749S and is waiting for delivery. I was unable
to talk him out of it. I feel like I've let him down somehow........

They're ugly. Butt Ugly. An abomination. An affront to the senses and
mind-numbingly bereft of any aesthetic value.

(I feel better now). :-)
