RE: [ST] Check Engine Light

Ed

It's just telling you that you ran the battery down to nothing. It will go
out on it's own in three complete warm/cool cycles. Go ride!

Not sure what you mean by your last statement, but I believe the ECU holds
only one tune at a time. So, when your dealer loaded a new tune for your
performance can, it overwrote the old tune. It is highly unlikely that
simply running your battery down to nothing will affect your computer's
memory.

I have a 2001 Sprint ST (BRG, the color of speed). Anyway, I left the key
in the park light position and killed the battery. I charged it up with a
battery tender and it runs fine, but the check engine light is on. I assume
that having a dead battery wiped out some of the engine management codes.
Can this be easily reset, does it need the dealer to reset the codes? I
have a Triumph Carbon fiber race can, and needed the codes for that, so I
figure that is reset to the default tune.
